Anti-SPAM Policy 

Island Systems Ltd is a UK company based in SW London, England and working mainly within the British Isles.

We do not encourage or carry out the sending out of random emails or SPAMing.

Island Systems subscribes to Brightmail through our ISP CIX / Nextra and we use this actively to help filter out SPAM mail on the Internet, regularly feeding back to ISP's culprit sites.

All advertising is carried out either in engineering, scientific and IT publications, internet advertising or direct named mail from genuine contact lists.  Before contacting we endeavourer to check phone and fax preference lists.

Our main clients are within the professional IT and Communications market.  It is not in our interests to encourage the use of Spam emails, as this would damage our professional good standing within the industry.

Before complaining please check the Usenet header in the email you received to see if this is actually from us.  

All our emails will end either @IslandSys.com, @MaldenAndCoombe.co.uk or since Winter 2001 with @IslandSystems.co.uk in addition our ISP provides the address islandsystems followed by either @cix.co.uk or @cix.compulink.co.uk.

Please any other URL may well not be from us.

Please check that the sender has not used our email as a reply address in error.  You can check this through the URL header.  Look at the "Received: from" part of the header.

Email addresses ending @islandsys.net are not ours and the URL belongs to a non UK company.

Email addresses ending @inlandsys.com are similarly not ours and the URL belongs to a non UK company.

We do have instances where our URL address appears to be used without permission, possibly emanating from an error with one of the above addresses.  Addressees ending @islandsys.com but starting with any of the following are not from us:

admi

cgonzalez

billing

dclark

woppfelt

Also any email starting afvncorina is not associated with our company.

Companies around other parts of the world with similar Island Systems names will not be our company.  We are not part of a multi-national.

Island Systems Ltd is a UK company registered in England and Wales and working across the UK, Republic of Ireland and Western Europe.  Our Registration No. in England and Wales is 3647564.  As a Ltd company we submit accounts to Companies House on an annual basis and are the sole company in England and Wales permitted to use the name Island Systems Ltd.

A company reporting to have the same Ltd company name based in another part of England has had action taken against it, through the British Trading Standards and reported to Companies House.  We have since taken the additional URL www.IslandSystems.co.uk to prevent its misuse again.

Emails addressed with the url  @islandsystems.co.uk but starting with hugo are not from us.

In the unlikely event of receiving a SPAM email that still appears to come from us, please return the full email (including the mail usenet header) using the reply to mail facility and CC to spam@islandsys.com  We will then investigate genuine complaints and report back.

Please note false accusations made against our companies good name we take very seriously.  Spam email targeted to the UK containing text that links to porn or other unpleasant sites, including money scams are forwarded to either trading standards or the police on a regular basis.
